QUESTION: How many Martial Art Leaders can meet with Heads of State? Since the history of TKD has been purposely distorted & manipulated often for political reasons, it flows naturally from that fact that to correct the record one needs some political influence, clout & connections! So how many Martial Arts leaders can meet with Heads of State? We know Gen. Choi did & did so often. We know current ITF & WTF Presidents have & continue to do so. We also should know that Gen. Chois Son, GM Choi Jung-Hwa was successful in getting the Canadian Embassy in Seoul, South Korea to honor Gen. Choi, a high profile Canadian citizen. They did so by naming a room in their Embassy Choi Hong Hi Hall. This important development is another step forward in correcting the record of TKDs history. Today TKD is practiced in some 207 Countries around the world. However only 1, South Korea still clings to the silly notion that TKD is 2,000 years old. Politics impacted these lies & politics can help the truth be known, even in South Korea! Early photos show how long Gen. Choi was accessing the highest levels of governments to gain support in his quest to spread his Original TKD globally. Photos from 2013 see both an ITF President Prof. Chang Ung, Ph.D & WTF President Dr. Choue, Ph.D meet with U.N. Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, possible future candidate for the Presidency in South Korea. Then just recently Prof. Chang met with the Tajikistan President at their National Palace & the Vice President of Tajikistan attended the opening ceremony of the 11th Junior & 6th Veterans WCs, where she addressed the audience. Finally 1 of the photos is from the Spanish translation of the Condensed Book made possible by GMs Trajtenberg & Marano, with collaboration of GMs Desimone & Ramisch. Can TKD students imagine what could be gained if all TKD leaders cooperated? PS - GM Jhoon Rhee, through his political connections made possible by his student Cookie Reyes, the person who introduced TKD to the Dominican Republic, was able to help Gen. Choi meet his President Joaquin Balaguer, who played a key role in getting the South Korean dictator, Gen. Park Chung-Hee, to release Gen. Chois wife & 1 daughter, as his family was being held hostage when Gen. Choi fled to live a life in self imposed exile to escape political persecution for his outspoken criticism of the brutal dictatorship(s). (A lot of hidden history behind these historical pictures!)
