Brisbane City Council is intent on implementing a permit system for gatherings of people using the citys extensive network of public parks, and on the spot fines of up to $5500 could be imposed on whoever organises a gathering without having purchaed a permit weeks before. And so peoples social life and leisure in the outdoors becomes another bureautcratic excuse for revenue raising. If this was replicated in a holiday destination like here in Noosa, it would shut this town down.
