Question: I would like to ask one more question about international student program and immigration system. I have been searching the immigration information through internet or Canada education fair and get some information. But unfortunately all of those information could not give me the whole picture of the application. I mean I dont know how to start my application by myself. That why I am finding the second source from book to tell me the process and difficultly of those application. I know there are lot of information from cic.gc.ca .Let say I start everything from the beginning, could you let me know the specific part of website that I should start to read from the beginning, please? Isaac Chan Answer: Thank you for your question. For the International Student program, once you have received a letter of acceptance from a designated learning institution, you should begin to prepare your study permit application. There are three official website resources that may inform you of the process: CIC’s main web site at cic.gc.ca; the Consulate General of Canada’s website at HongKong.gc.ca; and if you choose to submit your application at the Visa Application Centre (VAC), their website at vfsglobal.ca/Canada/HongKong/english/index.html. The best place to start preparing is by reviewing CIC’s a study permit page: cic.gc.ca/english/study/study.asp. Once you have gathered the required documentation, you must choose whether to submit your application online at cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/getting-started.asp or at the Visa Application Centre. See vfsglobal.ca/Canada/HongKong/english/index.html for the VAC office’s location and hours, as well as additional support services and fees. If you decide to apply at the Visa Application Centre, you may prepare your application beforehand by downloading the application package at cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/student.asp. Please note that your application must be complete when you submit it, either online or at the VAC. Any missing documentation may lead to a refusal of your application. Follow the document checklist carefully. In addition, as part of your application, you will be required to undergo a medical examination with an immigrant panel physician. You may do this exam either before or after submitting your application. For information on medical examinations, see cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-temp.asp. For immigration to Canada, you may get a better idea of your eligibility for our programs by taking the “Determine your Eligibility” quiz. Press the Start my Application button at the bottom of this web page: cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/getting-started.asp. I hope this information helps.
