Question: If you pass all of the COMPASS tests for college - TopicsExpress

Question: If you pass all of the COMPASS tests for college placement, and you take college level courses in math, reading, writing, and science, does it make sense that you would have to leave your college to go to a high school and take a 10th grade equivalency test to ensure you have learned enough to graduate from high school? This has happened to my son. He did the running start program and has done very well in his college courses AND nailed the COMPASS college placement tests. BUT the school says by state law he has to take the HSPE tests that 10th graders take, because he missed those. Without the test, he does not graduate from high school. Here is the final kicker. He is allowed to get a score of zero on the tests to graduate. All he has to do it show up. If he does not show up... he cannot graduate. Seems kind of... overly governmental. Like a scene from Dumb and Dumber. https://youtube/watch?v=zo-YVqV0v4Q
