Question about 504 and PE My high school aged daughter has a 504 relating to a kidney condition( type 2 RTA and nephrocalcinosis) that causes stones every 4-8 weeks. This has been in place since last year, and all teachers and administration have worked well with us since it was put in to effect with medical verifications. She requires narcotic pain management with stones, as well as other meds, and therefore misses school because there is clearly no possibility of learning and retention while on Percocet. However, in the last few weeks, she has missed rather a lot of school due to complications. We have provided doctors notes from specialists and labs and everywhere else for her file. Last week I got a call from her PE teacher, demanding that we start a completely separate file and 504 specific to PE, saying that we were required to have every bit of paperwork filed again, through the PE department. That the file in the office which I meticulously keep current, is not sufficient, and she will not take copies. I have never heard of such a thing! Anyone else gone through this or have suggestions?
