Question by : Setting up krk rokit monitors and subwoofer.? So Im new to all of this, Ive read the isntrctuons but i dont really understand. I want to hook my krk rokit 8s up to my subwoofer, and connect them all to my m audio firewire solo interface. The cords i have right know are xlr to xlr i think, and xlr to balanced quarter inch. So do i plug the xlr to xlr to the monitor, then to the xlr input on the sub, or would it be output? Also, for the quarter inch, do i take the xlr and put it in the subwoofer out or sub woofer in, then the quarter inch to my interface? Thanks. Ok i have done this. Its working for the most part, but when i stop my music from playing, there is still a bass tone playing from my subwoofer. Why is any sound coming out when the music is off? Also, since my monitors are going through the sub, into the interface, this means i have to have the sub on to hear the monitors right? Is there anyway around this? For example at night time when i cant have my subwoofer on ill turn it off, that means ill have to unplug them from the woofer and directly into the interface. Is there anyway around this? So i can get my monitors to play through the sub while its off, or is there a different setup i should do? Thanks. Best answer: Answer by barack NoBamaWhen hooking up wires, remember this phrase: out to in / in to out.. This will work for everything from audio to video. Match up the connections and use common sense. if it has 3 prongs, its XLR. Just decipher male or female . Just like humans, male sticks out + female goes in, etc. Good Luck! What do you think?
