Question for NYC people: a way of making my commute shorter is to cut through the JPMC buildings Public Access to 47th Street and Madison Avenue lobby... except that the guards are really insistent that I need to show ID *just to walk through the Public Access lobby*. Im generally able to browbeat them into letting me go through by pointing to the sign that says Public Access to 47th Street and Madison Avenue, strongly explaining that this building is getting tax credits for allowing the public access to this lobby for the purposes of walking through, and stating that I dont care what their supervisors said, I dont have to show them identification to walk through a PUBLIC AREA. It would be different if I were trying to enter the central part of the building. Im not. Im going through the part that says Public Access. So, the question is, should I call 311, or is there a better way to report these bozos?
