Question from Amy: I have a seven month old who will only sleep upright (swing, held, car seat). If I put her in her crib she doesnt even last an hour. This started when she was younger and I let her sleep that way because she had a bad cold.. How do I break it now? We follow a bedtime routine and she still wakes several times a night to eat.. Help this tired mama!! Answer: Can you raise the head end of the crib? You can try rolling up a towel, taping it closed with electrical tape, taping it to the mattress in a U shape and put the fitted sheet on top. With the raised head end of the crib she may be comfortable sat in the U shaped towel. You can then work on gradually lowering the crib. It takes 3 nights to break a habit, so you may expect some more wake ups during the time. Waking up to feed during the night is quite normal for children who are under a year old.
