Question from Marie - CrossFit Whats your opinion on CrossFit? ^^ or words to that affect.. First of all Marie, let me start by saying that if youre into CrossFit, you enjoy it, and its working for you then thats cool.. I actually think it has some benefits to it.. It helps lots of people lose weight and maintain lean muscle.. It helps people get fitter & stronger.. ..And for many who are heavily involved into it, then it provides them with a reason to exercise.. All of which is pretty cool, I guess? ...BUT! Heres where I think CrossFit is a flawed, antiquated training system.. First up.. Judging your progress by how much you sweat and how much you hurt after a session is slightly moronic.. Thats like everyone lining their car up in front of a brick wall, and seeing which one smashes up the least.. ^^ doesnt make sense right? Secondly, I also find it quite interesting that CrossFit king Rich Froning, doesnt use any of the CrossFit training or nutrition protocol to win the games.. He actually uses his own methods.. Again, thats the equivalent of hiring a fat personal trainer whos telling you what to do, but clearly isnt doing it themselves.. ^^ That happens too BTW but crazy right? Dont get me wrong, Im not perfect, I like to have a beer or a Krispy Kreme (or 2!), just as much as the next person does.. ..But Ill always make sure that Ive trialled ALL my training (& nutrition) protocols on myself first before I give them out to any of my PSPT members.. ..And finally.. Blindly following a training program without taking things into account with daily things like hydration levels, menstrual cycle, HRV, stress levels etc.. ..Is a one way ticket to burn out.. Yes, Im ALL for training hard, and getting a good workout
