Question from a #boymom: Weve recently moved to a new neighborhood full of boys of all ages which had my boys ages 13 and 9 super excited. Unfortunately, several of the boys fight, sometimes physically and sometimes just verbally, and they do this in my yard and house. Its really gotten out of hand several times so I decided to talk to the parents about it but sadly this has done more harm than good. Ive gone out of my way to be nice to these families. Weve had everyone over for a cookout, I always have snacks and drinks for the kids, and they spend the majority of time playing at or near my house. Ive had to set ground rules and ask that 5 year olds not be here unattended, but thats caused the parents to tell their kids not to play with my kids. Im just heartbroken over this. We homeschool so having kids to play with every day was big for my boys. Was I wrong to set boundaries for my own house? I just wish everyone would be nice.
