Question of the Day Africa, a continent of 54 countries and - TopicsExpress

Question of the Day Africa, a continent of 54 countries and five regional divisions is often described as “developing”. Critics within and outside the Continent always hinge their argument on poor or bad leadership which has metamorphosed into bad governance and corruption. Ironically, Africa is described as “rich but poor” From North to South, East to West, Africa is endowed with abundant mineral deposits that are enough to adequately cater for her teeming populace. Incredibly, Africa, in spite of all these mineral deposits, remains one, if not the first, of the poorly rated continents where standard of living, good governance and per capita income are at their least. African leaders are criticized of using the continent’s hard earned resources to enhance already developed European and American economies. African leaders prefer to die in power than relinquishing same to fresh bloods. In terms of remuneration, African leaders are better paid than many European and American leaders, even when their economies are begging for survival. But all these seem not to prevent them from taking undue advantage of their subjects. This growing trend is disturbing and so, we ask our question of the day on this issue as follows: With all privileges and money enjoyed by any serving president, is it right for such leaders to still unduly benefit from the resources of those nations?
