Quick Pro Tip #368: When I get stymied with a writers block, I get out my composition book, Bic pen, and start writing on that story. Writing anything. It doesnt matter. Bits of dialogue. Scene descriptions. Heck, even sound effects. I dont care if its great...good...ok...awful...or just plain ^*%t! I dont even think about whats going down on paper. Basically free association. Because somewhere in there, among all the crap Ill never use, is a word, a phrase, a scene...something...that will be the key to moving my story forward and end the block... The thing is, the longer you sit and stare at the block the bigger it seems to appear until it becomes crippling and overwhelming. Dont let that happen...
