Quick Question: If you completed tertiary education in Ghana and you wrote a long essay or thesis... did you write it yourself? The long essay writing business seems to be flourishing on campuses across the country and lecturers are living with the illusion that the scripts they mark were written by their students when in fact there are people who charge between GHC500 and GHC2000 to write long essays and thesis for undergraduates and even sometimes postgraduate students. I have over the past 8 or so years assisted some students write essays. Assisted, but somehow they wished, and indeed some offered to pay me to write all of it. Of course i didnt. That is how bad the situation is, you know. So are we surprised when some people cannot write basic reports and all? I beg, if you are a lecturer in any tertiary institution in Ghana, know that a healthy chunk of your students didnt write their own long essays.
