Quick Review Time! Gone Girl (Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike) One of the most well done films I have seen this year. The film has so many layers in its story that it will surely spark a long debate of what the story is all about. Not to mention the perfect marriage of the script, cinematography and sound makes this film something to watch over and over again to really figure out what really happened. The ending is not for everyone, but for me, it was perfect. Rating: 5/5 Perfect. A new masterpiece from Fincher. Probably now my second most favorite Fincher film next to Fight Club. (Honestly, a really close tie but Fight Club is too cool not to be number 1). Note: If youre looking for hollywood standard fare, you may be disappointed. This film just breaks all sense of escapism and actually serves the harsh cold truth to you. Probably one of the most honest films I have seen. Fury (Brad Pitt, Shia Lebeouf) A well made action film set in WW2. Full of machismo yet has the heart to show the brotherhood that ensues within a squad during war. Great performances from everyone and a decent flick to watch in cinemas. Highly entertaining but really not the Wow, that was bad-ass film you might expect. Rating: 3.5/5 A great film to watch for the bros out there. Still worth the price tag but not entirely a collectors item material.
