Quick hello from Buenos Aires ... Arrived absolutely exhausted as its been 3 days in a row with 3 hours sleep ... I went to the airport bank to change my money to discover they do not change Peruvian soles !!!! (its a short direct flight away, why the heck not!) Tried 4 ATMs (including my own Citibank) and none worked, and one had absolutely horrendous fees ... So I have no money yet! Booked an airport bus that drops you at your accommodation, as they took credit card (a change from Peru!) My general impressions are that it is cleaner here, a bit more upmarket and less rough than Peru (but apparently people are a bit more proud and arrogant here, I will find out!) Got to my hostel, they very kindly gave me a private room to get some sleep, and breakfast is amazing for a hostel (eggs, bread, pastries, fruit, home made biscuits, cereal & milk, teas, coffees and juices) ... so am having food again, first proper meal in 24 hours, since I have had no money here! They are lovely staff here and have helped me locate the bank where hopefully I will get some money soon so I can function here! Off to find out! Wish me luck!
