Quick rant. I love how all these people who go to Iceland to surf totally BS and overly dramatize everything. I have seen so many photos of surfers standing on icebergs in the Jokusarlon glacial lagoon, or paddling though the lagoon. Its a LAGOON! there are NO waves there. Sure it creates a pretty cool looking photo, but anyone who has been there knows that its total BS. In the video below, these guys seem to think that this icy lake is standing in the way of them getting to their surf spot. They say there is no way we are going to paddle across this icy lake in order to get to their surf spot. And Luckily we have an iceboat driver to get us across. You can pay for an ice boat tour right there in the parking lot of Jokusarlon. If you have ever been to this glacial lagoon you know that it is just off of the main road. One side of the road is the ocean, and the other side of the road is the lagoon. All these geniuses needed to do to get to the surf was walk across the road. I know this is just to make their little video seem crazier than it actually is, but I get so annoyed when i see stuff like this. Here is a link to google street view of the Lagoon.
