Quick rant: correct me if I’m wrong, but from a Marxist - TopicsExpress

Quick rant: correct me if I’m wrong, but from a Marxist ontological perspective, in distinction to the Hegelian, the material base of society forms the ground of the economic, on which superstructures, such as society and culture, are built. With climate change, and the necessary shift of our material base, therefore our economic, societal, cultural, etc., structures, how is Putin’s attempt to not only protect but re-assert fossil-fuel dominance (Russia’s economic base) helpful to the working classes in the bigger, historical picture? How is Putin even remotely communist, socialist, or even Marxist? How can anyone claim to be working for the greater good by continuing to support fossil fuels, rather than renewables? A bit of a conundrum to me. (But only rhetorically…) Its clear that people such as the Koch Bros. are after only their own interests, but they dont claim the alibi and mantle of workers salvation.
