Quick update for those who will be watching on Saturday, and what - TopicsExpress

Quick update for those who will be watching on Saturday, and what you should sort of expect. You should expect..... the unexpected. After handing my own arse to myself in South Africa, I have one aim for this race. Get over the line and enjoy it. The swim will most likely be slowish, none wetsuit you see. The bike course is very variable, for example the first 10km has three real kickers so could take about 30 mins. Then the course is dead flat with a great road surface so could be really fast. Only way to track any sort of pace will be after a full lap I think. There is also a hilly 26km section in the middle of the lap. That is also the monkey zone, so might stop for a chat. It is also going to be roasting hot, so that might just turn it into a survival story. The run course is awesome but goes through a night market and I cannot promise not to stop for satay sticks or the local specialty.. Deep fried sugar. Yes you read it right. Plain sugar, shaped into rings and deep fried. If I have one target for this race it is to cover the last 10 km of the run in less than 60 mins. Never done that before so if I can do that then it means I will have done everything right to that point in terms of pacing etc. Dont discount a joint team Coombe finish photo.
