Quick write-up from today: After a 4:44 wake-up, Kel jumped out of bed I was already awake! Got away nicely by 05:30 and were one of the first folks at the track in our nifty little trailer tucked in between the tents and vans. 1st race went great, with a nice move around lap 7. Probably could have made another pass, but didnt push too hard. Result 8th. Race 2 was a disaster. Kel was violently sandwiched after being bumped from behind and ended up getting airborne over the back of another kart. Race over for both of them. The other driver went to hospital for a quick check-up (turned out ok). DNF Race 3 was a 25-lap monster and the main goal was finishing so he could get endorsed for his full licence. He did well, before backing off too much when getting lapped where his main opponent passed him as well. Result: 7th There were some tough lessons in his first race meet and a little footage to analyse during the week. All in all a fantastic effort and hes now got his own trophy! I also got our race-day entry rebated from the gate prize so winners all round!
