Quintessence 2014 Friends, its that time of the year - TopicsExpress

Quintessence 2014 Friends, its that time of the year again. This year has taken me around the world, logging over 200,000 flight miles, more than any previous year. For those who know me well, know that I love music. This year, I often explored music while 30,000ft in the air. Over the course of this year, Ive logged 17,000 min on Spotify. By the end of each year, I carefully compile the quintessential pieces that help me to capture (and trigger) important memories from that year. Ive been doing so since 2006. Here are the 3 compilations for 2014: #1 Quintessence Patience: This is the most important one for me, its what I listen to most. Working, thinking or meditating, this compilation is for all humble students alike. From Arvo Pärt to Aphex Twin to Hans Zimmer, these minimal airy pieces are for the patient listener, the explorer, the challenger, the peacemaker. Theres something about that organized chaos that just fits. From Gene Ammons to Courtney Pine to Bill Evans, these expressive tunes are good to let go for a second, be with friends and enjoy the good things in life. (Especially around Christmas). From Flying Lotus to Kaytranada to Kendrick Lamar, the masters behind these soulful future beats explore whats new in modern electronica, beats and rhymes. His musical insight and knowledge in r&b, house, soul, electronic and hip hop music is phenomenal. This year, Estonia had its 26th Song and Dance Festival, with over 153,000 visitors incl. participants over the 3 days. The theme song as well as the name of the Festival was “Puudutus” (music Tõnu Kõrvits, lyrics Kristiina Ehin). This is the most important song of the year for me: https://youtube/watch?v=0U5gYzkY_jQ (Thank you, Kristiina Ehin!)
