Quite a great display of culture with the Boston African Sisters - TopicsExpress

Quite a great display of culture with the Boston African Sisters at their show last night, November 15th, 2014. What a marvelous job by these wonderful ladies, Lama Sidibay, DJ Lamine Keita, MC Abass Aka American, and to commend myself for my great promotional work. Everyone made me feel very proud and wonderful, you can hear me shouting in the videos. As I said in the promotion, Lama is a big and well known African artist from Guinea Conackry and Abijan. I wrote a bit of his biography in the promotion. The show was jam packed with the most beautiful African women in Boston and neighboring states. I commend the President of the Boston African Sisters Association, Ramzo Bah for the marvelous organizing effort she did to gear up all these great sisters to put on such a great performance with Lama Sidibay. Again, I was flabbergasted. Many attendees as far as from New York, Connecticut, Philadelphia and all places including my special guests Khadija Wahab-Yanni and family from New York. Special guests also included Bountouraby Samoura, my brother Sanusis wife, and himself. Also commending the wonderful job done by Yayekady Jalloh in mentoring these young girls to be able to organize themselves in such a marvelous fashion. How great and wonderful it is to put up such shows sometimes to feel closer to home. Go through all the pictures and videos to get the full glimpse of the show Below is the speech that I was meant to give, but you could see that I was so excited with dancing and etc. ,that unfortunately, I missed the opportunity of giving the wonderful speech: Jarama,me famble them, Good evening my brothers and sisters. I cant go further than Jarama in Fula, because I lost the connections . Do you know the reason why the link got broken and who to blame? It is Samoure Turay, who drove all the Sidibays, Jallohs, Kallays, and Sangares to everywhere, they were all originally Fullahs and descendants from Wassollo. Samoure invaded and broke Wassallo seven times and that made all these people go all over the places. That’s how my own family ended up in Sierra Leone, where we ended up speaking Madingo, Creole, Kono, etc. I am glad and proud to be here tonight amongst my kinsmen to celebrate one of African greatest artists Lama Sidibay who also happens to be one of our Wassoloo kinsmen. Thank God , this is just a brief history about my connection with Wassoloo and Lama Sidibe. I cant go further with my connections because I would like to give others the opportunity to speak. Meanwhile let me give a brief biography about our artist tonight. Mamadou Lamarana Sidibe, was born on 27 January 1965 in the popular area of Horé Fello in Mamou , crossroads city of Guinea located 275 km from Conakry . At the age of 19, Lama Sidibe plays first with Bigné Doumbouya, a saxophonist in the hut of Conakry, then continued his musical career with the group Nimba Jazz Nzerekore . His popularity grew, and he eventually became known in America as well as Africa. Thank you all for coming , enjoy. Thank God the Ebola in our Countries is on the downward trend, except recently in Sierra Leone on an increasing level, but I think things will soon turn downwards because of the overwheming support from around the world and our prayers. It will all end by February of next year inshaAllah, according to the experts familiar with Ebola. In conclusion, I believe women have been disadvantaged all over the world and I am happy that they are continuing to come together to promote events and themselves to be very worthy in community and society because it matters greatly. May Gob bless womanhood because it matters to us. Without further hindrance, if she doesnt mind, sister Khadijah has more to say. Thank you all.
