Quote from the Hebrews series, Gods Last Word. This records how a great hostile army had come against Jehoshaphat and Judah and they knew they didnât have sufficient resources to meet the army. But when they prayed, a prophetic message was given by one of the Levites that God would fight for them and they wouldnât even have to fight in the battle. So when this prophetic message came, the last part of it is there in [2 Chronicles 20] verse 17. âDo not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out to face them, for the LORD is with you.â And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the LORD, worshiping the LORD. Worship was the response of faith to the Lordâs promise of intervention. See, when God gives you a promise, faith has to appropriate it before itâs fulfilled. When Jacob blessed Ephraim and Manasseh, he worshiped. He didnât wait to see if history was going to prove it true. When the prophetic utterance came that God would fight against this army, they didnât wait to see how the battle went, they worshiped. Itâs so important to see that worship is one main expression of faith.
