Quote from the book, Called To Conquer. One aspect of coming to know God’s call on each of our lives is wrapped up in a single phrase: Finding your place. Until you have found your place, you will never be a totally fulfilled Christian. Your place touches all parts of your life. He has a geographical place for you, for instance. It matters whether you live in New York or Tokyo or London or Dallas. The book of Proverbs tells us, “Like a bird that wanders from its nest is a man who wanders from his place” (Proverbs 27:8). Have you ever seen a bird that got out of its nest and could not get back again? Nothing is more weak and pitiful than that bird. That is how it is to be out of your place. I have counseled many people, and sometimes I had to simply tell them, “One of your problems is that you are not in your right geographical place. This isn’t the place where you ought to be. And you will never really flourish until you find it.” God’s place for you does not stop with geography. He has a place of employment or service for you. He has a specific place for you in the Body of Christ. Scripture says, for instance, that every one of us should be a member of the Body. As such, each one of us must fit into the right place for that member.
