Quoting a response to my dec 31 post below --- because sometimes fancy reviewers and critics miss it - My name is in names and so is my city and townships. Names is me. Names is my struggle. Names is my journey. Names is my identify and my heritage. i am very, very touched to read this, and thank you Mandla Mkwananzi, and all those who have reminded me that our stories bind us, that even as they are hard, they need to be told, that with laughter and poetry and music and grace they will hold us to the sun, and more importantly, that i am you and you are me.
