RACEDAY #14 YEONGAM – KOREAN GRAND PRIX Yeongam, one of the most recently introduced circuit presently being third newest venue on the Formula One calendar after Austin and New Delhi. This will be fourth time Yeongam will host formula 1 grand prix. It is also one of only five circuits on the calendar that is anti-clockwise in nature… Yeongam features longest straight of 1.2 km than any of Asian Formula One circuits. The circuit is situated near waterside location, full of stunning natural scenery with magnificent mountains and beautiful islands (Mt. Jirisan, Mt. Wolchulsan, Hongdo, Baekdo and Geomundo Islands). The circuit is designed by the famous race track designer Hermann Tilke. Homeland of PSY, DUDE who rocked the whole world through his tune and dancing steps… The track is a bit of an unusual layout, the first section with three extremely long straights; being heavy breaking section and the final, which is a long, undulating section with a mix of high and medium-speed corners. The circuit is part permanent, part temporary. It is made up of a temporary “street circuit: section, which is included for the Grand Prix, and a 3.045 km permanent track, for use all year round.
