RAILA AMOLO ODINGA, A SEVENTH WONDER Today I want to tell you why I label this great man Hon. Raila Odinga a seventh wonder. I have always insisted on Raila and his seven but many have always disputed my analogy. Lets share in this about Tinga now. He was born on the 7th January, 1945. Take note of the seven as the date of birth and in the u will realize its importance. When Raila started schooling at Kisumu Union Primary School in Kisumu District, he reported to school on the 17 of January. There is an element of seven there. In 1970, he graduated with an Msc (Masters of Science) in Mechanical Engineering from Technical School, Magdeburg (now a part of Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg) in the GDR. Did u note the seven in the year he came back. On his arrest Raila was released from prison on 6th February, 1988 but only appeared in public on the 7th of February, the same year. He was rearrested on 7th September, 1988 for his involvement with human rights and pro-democracy activists pressing for multi-party democracy in Kenya, which was then a one-party state. Raila was released on 12 June 1989, only to be incarcerated again on 5 July (7th month of the year) 1990, together with Kenneth Matiba, and former Nairobi Mayor Charles Rubia. Raila was released on 21 June 1991. On 7th October, 1991 he fled the country to Norway with a hint that the corrupt Kenyan government attempted unsuccessfully to assassinate him. On 7th February, 1992 after the formation of Forum for the Restoration of Democracy (FORD), a movement formed to agitate for the return of multi-party democracy to Kenya he came back to Kenya and joined the movement. Raila first vied for President in 1997. His first appointment as a minister in Kenya was done on 7th June, 2001 when Moi appointed him to cabinet as Energy minister. Raila in his political carrier has been in 6 political parties so far; ODM (2005–present), LDP (2002–2005), KANU (2000–2002), NDP (1994–2002), FORD-Kenya (1992–1994), FORD (Before 1992). The only limiting factor to presidency is the seventh party which is soon in the offing and will automatically deliver power. Look at Raila in the 2007 elections, he was more energized than ever. So vibrant and full of vigor. 2017 is the year of Raila, u will know the real Agwambo. I want to urge all our youth, from Garissa to Mombasa, From Busia to Lamu, From Siaya to Moyale, From Makueni to Rusinga, From Kitale to kericho, From Baringo to Nyeri, From Nakuru to Migori, From Muranga to Kisii, From Kisumu to Kiambu, From all corners of this country to join hands with his Excellency Raila Amolo Odinga as he prepares to take power in 2017 and take this country to the next level, Kenya will be better and safer and Raila Odinga.
