RAILA ODINGA urged to start his own TV and Radio Stations after he was embarrassed Friday July 11, 2014 - Barely two days after Luo Nyanza region threatened to boycott watching Citizen TV and listening to its affiliate FM stations, among them Ramogi, which are linked to media mogul, Dr. SK Macharia, and his Royal Media Services (RMS) for giving former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Saba Saba rally at Uhuru Park a total blackout, CORD supporters have now come up with what they feel will be a solution. Venting their anger on social media, Raila Odinga’s supporters urged him to start his own TV station and FM station that will be airing his rallies live without intimidation and stop depending on and being embarrassed by Kenya’s media houses, which are largely owned by Kikuyus and to some extent Kalenjins, because they will always frustrate him. They said Raila Odinga is beyond being dependent on the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities and that it was time he formed his own media house to champion the opposition course because most media houses in Kenya are pro-Government and are easy to manipulate against the opposition. “We want Raila Odinga to start his own TV and radio stations to air his rallies and champion CORD’s agenda. We don’t want to depend on other people anymore,” said Brian Otieno. “Due to what the media showed us on 7/ 7, we find it necessary for Raila Odinga to start his own media house and radio station,” added Cyan Frankline, one of Raila Odinga’s supporters.
