RANM RBG NEW BLACK HOLIDAYS (TIME FOR US to celebrate our way) Instead of making further contributions to the system by celebrating their holidays, lets make our own; which establishes culture, identity, racial pride and SELF LOVE) This has to be the generation that changes ish! We have to break these generational curses that we have been under for far too long. Again, the purpose behind this is to bring to the forefront, acknowledge the positive contributions made by those ancestors, to honor them.for what they brought to table of BLACK advancement. Too many times, we let the honors of our ancestors be discredited by way of always wanting to point the blame at the downfalls of our revolutionary ancestors. So much to the point that we overlook the many solutions that were needed, but were blinded by senseless grievances. So, on these days let us as a people teach each other some of this vast knowledge that our ancestors left for us. Lets try and bring this to the table: Marcus Garvey Day (August 17. Based on his birthday, teach/exhibit something that Garvey brought to the people) El Hajj Malik El Shabazz Day (May 19. Based on his birthday, teach/exhibit something that Malcolm brought to the people) Queen Nzinga Day (December 17. Based on the day she died [no known birth date], a day for the SISTAS to show and exhibit their might for their nation) RED BLACK and GREEN Week (Every 2nd week of the month, represent visually wearing our colors proudly) Kwaume/Amos Day (March 10. Based on the birthdays of the two men, June 29 - Sept 19 = March 10. Teach/exhibit something that these two men brought to the people) Warriors Week (all our SOULJAHZ n freedom fighters) (April 5-11. Of all of the many warriors, pick one and teach/exhibit to these babies something that they brought to the people) African Science Week (Feb 1-7. Teach/exhibit of the many scientific advances made by African people) BLACKONOMICS Month (October every year. Spend the majority (if not all) of your money with black businesses, circulating the dollar to generate our economy) Black Youth Pride Week (July 26 - Aug 1. Each day of the week make the time to invest in the youth of our communities) Our Fallen Family Week (July 1 - 7 each year to honor our family slain in the streets by police brutality and other ill minded persons) Black Agriculture/Technology Week (June 14 - 20 every year. Teach/exhibit of the many farming and technical advances made by African people) Black Political Prisoners Day (15th of every month. Purpose is to connect and remind those behind the wall they are still loved and missed and are not alone in these hells we all are in) BLACK FAMILY Celebration Month (January every year. What better way to start of the year than by exalting our BLACK FAMILY which is the base foundation of our BLACK NATION?) Tradition Tuesdays (Every third Tuesday of the month, research a particular African tradition and share it with family n friends) Family fridays Feasts (Every fourth Friday of the month each member of the family contributes to a grand family styled dinner, which is the stage for genuine conversations and interactions of the family. In other words a time to heal.) More to be added... ...just a lil sumn sumn I been thinking about... WHATCHU think FAMILY?
