RANT--Hi folks. The vandalizing that occurred over the weekend has a lot of us pretty steamed. The destruction of other peoples property is simply unacceptable....especially here. With the Mayors consent, the Town will be putting together a $500 reward fund for information resulting in the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the damage to the Presbyterian Pre-school, the Jehovahs Witness Church, the Homes for Islanders houses under construction, the 11 car tires that were slashed and at the Elementary School. As is the case with rewards, it will be paid to the person that first gives the information. If solved by several tips, the reward will be split accordingly. I would welcome those of you in the community that have expressed similar outrage over this to contact me if you want to add to the reward fund. If we have no subject under investigation within six months we would refund the money contributed. It will be held in a Town trust account in the interim. This type of activity has to be stopped now. If you read Sarah Sandwiths description below you will see how disgusting this really was. Hopefully a reward will result in someone coming forward with information to the Sheriffs office. The Town will not be taking the information but you may talk with the Sheriff about your ability to remain anonymous. Thanks for your help. Please get the word out.
