RANT WARNING: Correct me if Im wrong, but this Groundbreaking deal that Obama made today with China over emissions goes like this... We will reduce our emissions 26% by 2025. (mostly through hurting our coal electric generation industry, more emissions crap on our vehicles). China promises to cap their emissions by 2030. That means folks, they have to do NOTHING.. NOTHING for 16 more years to reduce their emissions. They are on track to build a new coal fired power plant every 10 DAYS for the next decade (as reported by NBC). So if my math is right, thats 365 coal fired power plants they can build in a decade. Add in another 219 at that pace for the remaining 6 years before they fulfill their promise, and you get 584 new coal fired power plants for China. Meanwhile, for the 16 years that we are reducing our footprint, our costs for electricity are going to increase, the cost for our automobiles will go up, those in the coal industry are going to suffer, and China is basically going to do whatever the hell they want. Does anyone believe that in 16 years they are going to stick to their promise? That right there deserves a Bit#$ PLEASE This has to be the most asinine Groundbreaking Deal ever announced. Maybe I am missing something, please let me know if I am. I sure wouldnt want to take our Supreme Leader along with me when I go to buy my next vehicle, I dont know if I could handle the DEAL hed get me.. lol
