RANT: so... I know that the name Harley and I chose for our new puppy is the same name that the Islamic military group that is raising hell and causing destruction and terror. How is that different than the rest of the damn crazy ass people over there killing women and children. In that group, ISIS stands for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria also known as Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), but the news thought ISIS sounded better so that is what they are calling it. My puppy’s name is Isis (not capital letters signifying an abbreviation) and it has nothing to do with the name of that organization. She is named after the Egyptian goddess, Isis. As a goddess, she was worshipped as the ideal mother and wife as well as the patroness of nature and magic. She was the friend of Slaves, sinners, artisans but she also listened to the prayers of the wealthy, maidens, aristocrats and rulers. Isis is also known as protector of the dead and goddess of children. It is actually quite ironic, I think. My sweet little girl will be doing good and spreading happiness long after the sorry excuses for humans fall off the face of the earth and everyone forgets about the insignificant beings that they are.
