RAYMAN, Mr. Theron C. “Skeet” Galesburg, MI Passed away Sunday morning July 21, 2013 surrounded by his family. Theron was born September 23, 1931 in Edwardsburg, Michigan, son of Lloyd and Dorothy (Yeider) Rayman. Skeet and Lois met in high school at Galesburg, where he graduated from. He played football for Galesburg. Skeet and Lois (Reams) were united in marriage on September 7, 1951 and shared a long and very happy life together. During the Korean Conflict, he served with the U.S. Air Force. He spent one year in Korea and was an airplane mechanic on B-26 bombers. Skeet and Lois made several lifelong friends while in the service. He had been a lifelong Galesburg area resident and was well known in Galesburg. He worked many places throughout his work life: a Milkman at Kalamazoo Creamery, a vending machine repairman for Beverage Vending in Kalamazoo and went to many of the Kalamazoo factories, heating and cooling and early on was employed by his dad at Rayman Heating, then Champion’s Heating, maintenance man for Arboridge Care Center and an apartment complex in Kalamazoo, Smith Machine and Grinding Company before retiring. He was also one of the cities “Handy Men” and did a many odd jobs for Galesburg residents. Skeet loved to plan and map out annual family vacations and we have so many great memories of our trips and spending family time laughing, giggling and seeing the sights. Skeet was an active member of the Galesburg Lions Club, served as secretary for a few years and looked forward to the annual “Stag Picnic” at the Flooks. He was a member of the Galesburg Fire Department, and played a big role in the development and building of the Galesburg Historical Museum. Skeet was very active in his earlier days with Greater Galesburg Day and for a few years was in charge of the parade and Lois headed up the craft show at the Congregational Church. Skeet was the Galesburg Santa for many years and became quite emotional talking about the kids and grandkids of Galesburg people he knew. He really enjoyed this for many years. He attended Galesburg Congregational Church of Christ especially when the girls were young. He had a quiet faith he did not share much, but demonstrated by his love and caring for others. Skeet and Lois enjoyed camping, traveling, having parties or going to them, spending time at the family cottage, bowling, hunting, fishing and truly knew how to have a good time and enjoy life to the fullest. Skeet enjoyed tinkering in his garage and always had a few projects going. Skeet and Lois spent 11 winters in Florida at Lake Josephine RV Park, where they also made many friends. Skeet was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, John Groh, Sr. in 2011.
