RCC Australia detects EPIRB and sailor is airlifted from sinking yacht An RNZAF Orion crew returning from searching for missing Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 were re-tasked by RCC Australia, along with the Rescue 65 helicopter and the Perth Dornier, to investigate an emergency alert signal from an EPIRB. The beacon was registered to a yacht with a solo sailor aboard. The New Zealand crew located the yacht using the beacon and their radar.
