RE: Edsa Tayo on Sept 11 "I support the protest like I support any mass action intended to make the point to government that the people are not going to take the thievery anymore, either through the pocketing of Congress’ pork barrel funds that the administration uses to buy lawmakers’ loyalty or the trillion-peso kitty that President Noynoy Aquino controls directly. And I will go to Edsa next week because, despite the obvious clamor from the people to abolish all manner of pork as demonstrated in the Aug. 26 rally at Rizal Park, the government has done nothing substantial to heed the call of the enraged citizenry. Indeed, since Aug. 26, we have been told by government that the supposed abolition of the hateful Priority Development Assistance Fund is not going to happen any time soon. And we also learned in graphic detail how Aquino and his top officials rolled out the red carpet and continue to give VIP treatment to Napoles, as if she were some key witness in the mess instead of its enabler and conductor. I support any legal effort to make this government realize that not everyone is fooled by the wall-to-wall propaganda, by the diversionary tactics, the politically motivated sanitizing of the list of culprits and the trotting out of the usual suspects. I will keep doing what I can, in my small way, to prove that not everyone is fooled by the policy of bread, circuses and fake love interests. I refuse to worry about who joins the ranks of those calling for real reforms and what they bring to the table of protest. I will look beyond their political colors or persuasions and welcome everyone who truly wants the promised—and subsequently hijacked—change." - Jojo A.
