RE POSTING THE LIST FOR THE LOVE BOXES. DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER 5TH. I CAN PICK UP DONATIONS OR THEY CAN BE DROPPED OF AT MY HOUSE. JUST GIVE ME A SHOUT OUT. THANKS SO MUCH TO THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY DONATED MONETARY GIFTS. YOU ROCK!!!!!!!! TO MY FB FRIENDS THAT I DO NOT WORK WITH. (ALREADY HAVE A BOX AT WORK) PLEASE REMEMEBER OUR TROOPS THIS YEAR FOR THE HOLIDAYS. DONATIONS CAN BE BROUGHT TO MY HOUSE OR I WILL MEET TO PICK UP. THESE DONATIONS ARE PART OF MILITARY CHRISTMAS LOVE BOXES THAT I HAVE HAD THE PRIVILEDGE TO BE PART OF FOR THE 2ND HOLIDAY SEASON. THANKS. It is that time of the year that we need to collect items for our Christmas Love Boxes going to our soldiers. We are putting our requests out earlier this year so maybe some church groups or other organizations would have time to post this message and help us with our drive. If you just take a walk thru your home, I am sure you could find many of the items we are looking for. We appreciate any thing you can help us with. We also are going to need money for shipping the boxes. Last year we sent 34 boxes and we are hoping that we will be able to send more this year. Here are some Christmas Gift Ideas for our soldiers: IF YOU ARE A BAKER, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MAKE SOME HOMEMADE GOODIES, JUST KEEP IN MIND THEY WILL BE TRAVELING. BAR COOKIES MAY BE BEST ***NOTHING RELIGIOUS - IT COULD GET THE WHOLE BOX CONFISCATED*** NOTHING GLASS Socks Deodorant, soap, conditioner (Hotel sizes are great) Shower to Shower body powder Candies such as Jelly beans, hard candy, tootsie rolls, suckers ( you get the idea, small items as boxes are small) Rice Krispie treats and M&M’s (plain or peanut) Altoids or mints Cough Drops - soothes dry throats along with hard candies! Beef jerky Sunflower seeds and Nuts Chewing gum Long-distance phone cards Little Debbie’s snacks Ziploc double seal bags (for keeping things airtight, watertight, and fresher) Coffee, Tea Bags and Hot cocoa mix Woman personal needs (pads, tampons, etc) - Our Military use Tampons to Stop Bleeding on the Wounded too! Gatorade Jaw breakers Poker game, Dominoes, Playing cards, Dice, hacky-sac Music CDs Toothbrushes & toothpaste Inflatable pillow Cookies or muffins in individual packages (Big bags often fill with dust if not eaten right away.) Canned food items Spices, salt, pepper, sugar packets, squeeze butter Kitchen cooked chips – SMALL bags to fit in the small boxes Individually-wrapped licorice Microwave popcorn DVD movies Ramen noodles Macaroni & cheese Disposable shower towels Cereal bars/granola bars Microwave pasta that doesn’t need refrigeration Soup mix Magazines (these don’t have to be brand new) Koozies - to keep water bottles and cans cool Chapstick - A HUGE USE ITEM OUR MILITARY REALLY APPRECIATE HAVING!!
