RE:THE CANDIDATURE OF MRS EREZI ESIEVOR FOR THE DELTA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY (A DELIBERATE PITFALL BY THE LEADERS) For some days now I ve gone under on a solemn self reflection when I thought of how short our struggles on earth are as shown by Oslos death. But because we must still live till our own time, we must still argue and disagree on issues. I read the above piece by Tony Ejumejowo, an Emede son, and some of the comments, Particularly the one of Ukolobi and I am amazed how people think. First Tony insinuated that Barr Erezi candidacy is a deliberate attempt by the leaders to derail her. I laugh aloud because he is dreaming. To contest is inalienable right of every citizen, also, until the results are counted no one can know how the voters would vote. One of the key issues political scientist have debated is what determines voters behaviour. I therefore caution Tony to put his predictions on proper perspective since predictions neither win football matches nor to talk of Politics. It is worthy of note that all of us are clamouring for youthfulness in the forth coming elections which i ideologically embraced. But in reality winning elections is more than just being a youth, therefore, Emede as a community providing Orezi to run as a House of Assembly candidate is a choice that I feel Tony should embraced haven missed same sometime past. Then to my brother Ukolobi who is telling Emede who their children are and are not, Its a pity we are still practicing dogma. How can him Ukolobi say that because Orezi marry she can not contest thru Emede. I wish to Let him know Emede do not discriminate against women, as some African communities do. If we can accept her as our daughter when she made possible the renovation of Emede Grammar school, we can also accept her as our daughter to contest. Yet again, some persons said she has no house in Emede, how can one have house more than having a big family compound like the one her father has. what is she duplicating houses for. Politics? You may wish to know she does has a compound. Yet again some stated that she doesnt sleep in Emede, the question is how many politicians sleep in their village regularly. Some of us built in Oleh, so can one say I am not on ground just because I left Emede to come and sleep in Oleh? Yet, others say she is not on ground and she is not known. I wonder how she can be more know after she has done ICS renovation and the other projects in the constituent. She is a woman, so she may not bear same popularity of men and boys as many believe, but try a woman in policy position and u will understand why the slogan says behind every successful man, is a woman¨. There is sharp difference when a woman take a policy position than when she is on appointment. Because of their loyalty to their employees they are presumed weak, but when voters become their employee you will see the real woman performing. The reality is that, if we want to compaign for our various candidates we should do that, after all thats the beauty of democracy, but we should stop wiping up sentiment by attacking personality. Soon I shall profile her and we will know that among all the contesting candidates she stands out as one of the most qualified. We from Emede are appealing to Oleh and Irri to give us a chance, we have supported you in various capacity. And we will continue to work with you if we are given same support as we have given u. Igbigbisie Emmanuel Ogheneochuko, Ukolobi, Ejumejowo et. al, no love lost. The ultimate goal is motherland development. We disagree to always Agree.
