RE: The transparency of lobbying bill. Causing a stir in the UK - Not a clampdown on civil liberties or freedom of speech - this bill addresses political lobbying, vote rigging & gerrymandering type of activities. Partly a result of Len McCluskeys (Unite) activities regarding vote rigging - they signed people up to gain greater representation, often without their knowledge & who hadnt been a union member for years - Miliband refuses to re-open the case or discuss this, lest his lose the massive contributions from the union. Im no fan of Cameron, and not anti-union, but do think McCluskey has done a lot of damage to the rights that unions have fought very hard for, for his own ego & political agenda. So I dont think this is the UKs version of the Patriot Act.
