RE: WHY APC HAS KEPT SILENT ON.. The Aviation Ministry purchase saga! Culled from Shakabans memoirs of a revolution of 5th oct, 2013. Ikenna and All, Ladies and Gentlemen, please lets keep the noise making going whether there is any meaning or reasonable learning points to draw from these arguments or none, it all amounts to one of the most fundamental gains from the GEJs administration and a shift from those draconian eras of both the military and some of our so called civil administrations. At least now he GEJ has made Nigerians to understand that the buck must stop at his desk (The Presidents) not only in this administration but in all subsequent ones to come. Now you can slap him (the President) on one cheek and yet he says YES SIR OGA AND MADAM AND TURNS THE OTHER CHEEK AND NO REPERCUSSIONS!!! This is a welcome development for our budding democracy. I like the whistle blowers and the good work they are doing but what I detest is blowing things out of proportion just to call a dog a bad name at all cost in order to hang it or playing to the gallery of the opposition. Now that we have freedom of information, let us not throw the child away with the bathwater for cause; the child urinated or defecated in the water, as what we are experiencing now is the needed progressive evolution towards constructive highlighting the ills of our system of doing things. Today, it is not only the buying of bullet proof cars by the aviation ministry and the Lagos State hit men. There are many others, such as the purchase of private jet, helicopters and limousines by Amaechi and all the more equal animals across our dirty political landscape and yet, nobody is blowing the trumpets. These are mere icing of the cake and we are busy wasting our time crying wolf over spilled milk while the cow that produces the milk its self is being stolen. If those of us making these noises, are not dancing to the tune of the opposition, I will challenge then to do a little bit of research into what had obtained throughout all the three tiers of governance from the local governments to the presidency from the military era to this current dispensation. Take the NDDC and Gen. Muhammadu Buharis Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) for instance, then add to that the ghost workers syndicates that have robbed our teaming young graduates of gainful employment, take a look at the annual retirement/fresh intake ratio of the entire spectrum of the Nigerian administrations. if you compare thieses with the wage-bills/the figures of the unemployed Nigerians, you will decry our current census figures. These are monumental fraud/corruption which is at the root of all our evils. Please my dearest whistles blowers; you will need trumpets to blow up the monumental rot in our society. Please kindly throw your searchlights into these crimes crippling our society to extinction/disintegration. Now let’s fall back to the topical issue of the Aviation Ministry bullet proof cars, If I did read these noises correctly, these cars were purchased for the use of the Minister and not a gift to her or a kind of gratification, right? And that when she leaves office, the cars still remains property of the Aviation Ministry; right? YES! Okay, the problems remain the hyped value of the cars. That is the issue but not indeed one that deserves all these tornadoes and hurricanes but a simple due diligence investigative procedure. What are the procurement procedures and at what stage did the frictions set in, get the culprits and the vendors that sold the cars and release the hammer according to the proportion of responsibility/culpability, some will be fired and other might lose their seniority then close the chapter and let’s move on to more serious/pressing issues that requires trumpet blowing.. You do not necessarily have to fire a Ministry for this negligence after due diligent investigation over such lapses when people like FFK build his Abuja mansion plus so many others for simply sitting at the helm of that ministry only for seven months and is today an anti-corruption crusader and we are all watching, seeing but not talking. Yet there is this whopping 600m Naira purchase of two armoured jeeps by the Lagos state hit-men of the African Propaganda Consortium (APC) and we are all sitting dead mutes and not removing the specks from those eyes or is all these noises a paid campaign of calumny by the opposition? Wake Nigerians and be stead fast at doing the right things right, if we are really serious about fighting corruption which has now become a psycho-social hazard to us all. Nigerians you go figure out all these for yourselves and digest the glaring facts before us all that corruption has been established/entrenched into the Nigerian body polity/psyche for well over 47 years now and cannot just be wished away overnight but through a systematically marshaled concerted efforts by all well meaning Nigerians; you and me with a clear and sound conscience but not on a partisan ticket.QED! SHAKABAN for Falconzulu on (TNNE).
