REACHING FOR THE STARS Shooting in complete darkness is not - TopicsExpress

REACHING FOR THE STARS Shooting in complete darkness is not easy. Simple tasks like locating a subject, composing, fidgeting with camera settings, straightening the horizon, and finding a focus point takes a whole new meaning. What would normally take a couple of minutes could take as long as 30. This capture required 2 exposures to make, one exposure for the milky way, 30 secs., f2.8, iso 2000, and one where I light painted the foreground, shot at iso 100 to preserve details. The key is using a sturdy tripod to make sure there is no movement between exposures. ( 2/2014- Mono Lake, California)
