WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME The Women Entrepreneurship Development (WED) Programme is implemented by the Centre for Development of Enterprise to support women enterprises registered and operating in Botswana which have a potential for growth. The programme will provide capacity building to companies in the framework of financial management, human resources management, marketing, productivity increase, business planning and how to access financial resources. It is foreseen to increase the productivity of the companies in order to be more competitive. The Programme is implemented in partnership with WIBA, the Department of Gender Affairs, BOCCIM, BEMA, LEA, HATAB. To enter the programme, companies and business groups must fulfill the minimum criterion which includes the following: • Be a Botswana registered Company and owned by a woman or has majority shareholding by women. • Have minimum annual sales/ turnover of P300, 000 and/ or assets of P100, 000. • Be within the following focal sectors: Manufacturing, Agro Processing, Tourism, Arts & Crafts, Textiles, Leather, Waste Management, Services (ICT). Companies and business groups interested in benefitting from this programme and who meet the above mentioned criterion should apply by completing an application form available from one of the organisations; WIBA, the Department of Gender Affairs, BOCCIM, BEMA, LEA, HATAB.
