READ: KHON TV News Story--Political leaders voice disapproval over Fridays Big Island polling plan. Pat Saiki, chair of the Hawaii Republican Party, called on the Office of Elections to delay the planned Friday election until Puna residents have access to basic necessities. “People there are being asked to put that all aside to go to the polls to vote? I mean, where are the priorities? I think it’s unfair to these people to be forced to go to the polling places while they’re trying to survive,” Saiki said. “They’ve got 21 days according to the law.
