READER IN NEED OF ADVICE: 2 years ago, we moved our daughter, who is now 22, into my grandmothers house. My mother did not want the house to sit vacant. In place of monetary rent, my daughter was supposed to keep the house and yard clean (and my mother made out a paper definition of clean just so that there would not be any doubt), pay the electric and water, and keep attending church regularly. She has not kept her end of the deal. She has to be reminded about the bills due constantly, and the house and yard are beyond filthy and uncared for. I dont understand how she can live in such filth. She was not raised that way. So the other day, when one of the other kids and I had to stop by her house for something, and there were dishes, food, trash, etc., piled on EVERY SURFACE again, including the floor and bed, I told her she has 6 weeks to find a new place to live. At the end of those six weeks, anything of hers that is left in the house will be removed and taken to the trash. I love my kids, but she has had multiple oppurtunities to get things straightened up and is not doing so. I have had someone tell me that this is just too mean, and that I am going to drive her away by this, but I am at the end of my patience with her. I have tried to talk with her, my mother has done so, and nothing seems to help. Thank you for any opinions and advice.
