REASONS WHY YOU DON’T LOSE FAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You’ve been dieting If I diet Russell I will lose weight right? Well, yes, that’s true but up to a point. The problem is that diets are, by their nature, restrictive and therefore unsustainable. It doesn’t matter if you do Atkins, weight watchers, slim fast or eating cabbage soup standing on your head, any weight loss plan operates by limiting what you eat, whether reducing calories taking out entire food groups or forcing you to live on milkshakes. In the short-term the weight falls of, your body needs calories and carbohydrate to fuel your metabolism, when your body doesn’t get the fuel it needs it utilizes muscle as a fuel because fat is to precious, so you are in fact losing muscle and lowering your RMR long-term. ‘Great you think, I’ve lost weight’, so I can go back to eating normally again’. And before you know it the weight has piled back on and you’re worse than when you started. The secret to losing weight is not to give up beer, cake, and fast food for two weeks. it’s to make long term sustainable changes to your nutrition. The weight will take longer to come off but this way it will stay off.
