RECAP AND PRAYER OF SUNDAYS MESSAGE ~ Pastor Smith and First Lady Genines 18th Anniversary ~ April 27th, 2014: Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman. If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchmans hand. So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. (Ezekiel 33: 1-7) Dear Father...I just want to Thank You for Your Grace. Your Grace which is sufficient. Your Grace that allows our Faith to flow. Thank you Father for all of your blessings and Your tender mercies. Father, I not only want to acknowledge YOUR GRACE, but I would like to thank you for the message that you sent through Your messenger, Assistant Pastor Jonathan DeCuir. In Your infinite plan and wisdom, You knew that Friendship needed, and was ready to receive Your instruction. Father, we thank you for appointing and anointing, our Pastor...who is the Leader that YOU selected to be our Gift and our Watchman. Father, we ask for your forgiveness for not appreciating, for not supporting, for not following the direction that You have given our Pastor - our Watchman. Father, thank you for the message, that opened both our hearts and eyes to what You have assigned our Pastor, our Watchman to do here at Friendship. Father, in our arrogance, we thought we knew - but we did not listen and we were disobedient. I did not know and did not acknowledge that our Pastor was assigned by YOU, to be the Watchman over our souls. I did not know, that our Pastor was a gift from You...God. How have we treated Your gift? I did not know that You, told him to STAY ON THE WALL - to stand vigil, watching over Your people and Your church. Everyday our Pastor stands vigilant...through the good times and the bad times, through the storms and through the calm, he stands when he is tried and when he is alone. He does all of this because he is obedient, and he stands so that You are GLORIFIED. He is not staying on the wall, for his personal reasons, he stays on the wall because You have selected him to deliver Your message to Your people - he is indeed Your faithful servant. Since You sent your messenger, we at Friendship now know the Watchmans role and how You are using his gifts. We now have a responsibility to offer our individual gifts to support him and Your church. Now that we know, we will offer our gifts without the negative and entitled attitudes - we will wait patiently, and be glad to offer our expertise like Bezaleel. So Father, thank you again for the message and Your messengers. Thank you Father, for answering our prayers for help here at Friendship. And Thank you Father, for lighting our path to Greater Glory. And we will continue to praise Your name, and pray for guidance, strength, and obedience. And we will be ever so careful to take care of Your gifts. In Jesus precious name...AMEN!
