RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 10 PM FRIDAY FOR EASTERN SISKIYOU COUNTY AND ALL OF MODOC COUNTY IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, AND KLAMATH AND LAKE COUNTIES IN SOUTHERN OREGON. THE WARNING AREA INCLUDES THE MODOC COMPLEX AND COLEMAN FIRE AREAS. The National Weather Service office in Medford, Oregon has issued a Red Flag Warning due to winds expected to gust to 40 miles an hour, and for humidity levels dropping to 5 - 10 percent. The conditions will combine to create an atmosphere which could lead to explosive growth in current fires, and bring undiscovered hold over fires roaring to life. Extreme care to avoid starting new fires is urged. Campfires should only be in designated campsites with fire rings on bare ground and with no exposure to vegetation at all.
