REDEFINING THE DEVELOPMENT OF ELITE STUDENT ATHLETES GPA IS NOW IN SESSION IN NEW ENGLAND Global Performance Academy Becoming a Champion is never easy but through hard work, dedication and the right combination of “Training and Coaching”, GPA believes that greatness is attainable. GPA has brought together the leaders in Athletic Training to provide World Class development to New England. High performance training academies are the norm in Canada and GPA is now bringing this ground breaking concept to Boston. Follow The Path... Free Clinic and Open House You and your family are invited to attend our open house for free, Friday March 28th, 7:30am-1pm at New England Sports Center in Marlborough. The open house will start with an hour and a half skating and skills session with former NHL player and NHL skating and skills coach, Graeme Townshend. (For more about Graeme and his Townshend Hockey training visit TownshendHockey.) We will then spend an hour off ice training before breaking for a catered lunch. At noon we will visit our classroom for a brief Q&A. Only 20 spots are available so please rsvp as soon as possible to SGoodson@GPApath. If the date does not work with your schedule you can schedule another day to “follow the path.” WHAT IS GPA? What if you had access to an affordable Private School education while taking advantage of a specialized hockey program conducted personally by a World Class NHL skating and skills coach? Global Performance Academy was formed by former NHL star and multiple Stanley Cup Champion Doug Brown. Dougs passion for education and his personnel Prep School background has led to this ground breaking school. GPA is a full-time blended online school for student/athletes grades K through 12. For the first time in the Northeastern United States, a high quality and challenging Private School education is being combined with the very best in Hockey development that all families can afford. With over 500 NCAA Division 1 scholarship players and over 100 current NHL players developed, GPA hockey has no equal. GPAs academic and hockey curriculums are customized to meet each students individual needs. The program is designed to complement and support each student-athlete’s participation on competitive club teams or travel teams. We will not be forming teams and therefore we will not interfere with your childs desire to play wherever he/she wants. GPA will only enhance your childs athletic experience, allowing coaches to spend more time on team based concepts. Because our program offers 1.5 hours of on ice training per day plus 45 min of off ice (over 10 hours per week), we can take our time to address each students unique needs at a pace each student can easily maintain without the negative affect of burn out. With our proactive Community Outreach and our Anti-Bullying and leadership curriculum, we have been able to lead the industry by developing children who grow into compassionate, considerate and socially responsible community leaders. Your child will take part in a academic curriculum that allows them to complete their daily lessons, including homework, during the school day, freeing up time in the evening to share with family. Without 3 + hours of homework per night, your family is no longer frantically rushing to get dinner on the table, rush to practice and get the last hour of homework completed. It is said that in order to be a “Master” at anything, it requires 10,000 Hours of training and practice. We have developed a unique “STAR SYSTEM” which combines 500 + hours of hockey training (on ice, off ice, mental training, nutritional training, video analysis and more) which is equivalent to 5 years of a typical youth hockey program. Plus they can still play with their friends! More work in less time has been a proven recipe for success by bringing back balance to our lives and less stress and the ability to become the best you can be.
