REGARDING EOSINOPHILIC DISEASE: Our 10 year old twins have autism, Mitochondrial Myopathy, EoE, EC, and Alpha 1. Stevie was dxd with EoE in 2009. In 2010, he went on Pulmicort slurry for treatment and it backfired due to yeast in the esophagus. He refused to eat/drink so a g-tube was inserted. He was on the g-tube for 8 weeks and due to a soy intolerance/allergy to Elecare he went downhill and was back on table food. We removed his MICKEY after a year of no use in late 2011. Once I figured out the soy intolerance he went on EO28 Splash for nearly 2 years. Gained lots of weight. Became sensitive/reactive to Splash and is currently on plain Neocate Junior w/o prebiotics. Was dxd with EC 4 months ago. Sam was dxd with EoE in 2011. They have a great team of doctors. Because Stevie was dxd within the last few months with EC his GI wanted him on Flovent, Nystatin and Gastrocrom. However, I chose to juice. I am seeing great things with doing juicing. He has more energy than ever. His teacher has seen more focus in the classroom. ALL of his aggressive behaviors are nearly gone. And hes not on meds for the EC. My question is, has anyone thought about juicing? ALL of the things that Stevie is supposedly allergic to as far as fruits and veggies, he gets in his daily juice. My thoughts are that because hes drinking his juice in raw form and w/o additives his body is tolerating the juice. He went from screaming ALL day to being very happy, hungry, focused in school, far less behaviors in school, etc. I asked his teacher, when she called to tell me about how great school is going, what she attributed it to and she is confident that its the juice. I have also started his twin on juicing. I am seeing some good results. Thanks for any/all opinions. P.S. Forgive me if I am not in the status quo as far as meds, etc. If I can find any alternative that works and is natural then I am going to do it. As parents, we need to be vigilant and proactive and look at ALL of the POSSIBILITIES out there for our children. So far, juicing is working for my boys. Stevie has been off Miralax since juicing as well and ALL that I am looking at is the positives. The boys will be scoped within the next 2 months and I will gladly share those results. Please do not shoot the messenger. ON A SIDE NOTE: Stevie is going to be tested for mast cell disease.
