REMEMBERING APRIL 1 MASSACRE I say, comrades, this is NOT an April 1 Fools Day Joke. It is real! You see, today, some 25 years ago, over 1 600 heavily armed PLAN fighters were ordered by their then Commander-in-Chief, Comrade Tatekulu Sam Nujoma, to enter Namibia from Angola in blatant violation of the provisions of United Nations Security Council Resolution 435. They were met by highly armed and highly mobile contingents of Koevoet soldiers and what ensued was a blood bath which left some 40 Koevoets dead and more than 340 PLAN fighters having lost their lives! The remainder of PLAN was eventually forced to return back to Angola north of the 16th parallel. According to Resolution 435 package, this is where they should have been situated in the first place while being monitored by military observers from the First United Nations Angola Verification Mission (UNAVEM I). Omukwanekamba is well informed that Comrade Nujoma decided single-handedly to send those PLAN fighters to their sure death, despite strong advice to the contrary coming from the likes of Comrade Gen Dimo Hamaambo, PLAN Commander, Chief of Staff Cde Charles “Ho Chi Minh” Namoloh and a couple other high-raking PLAN field commanders! I can see that the Namibian people are dead quiet about this terrible treachery! It was NOT necessary at all to send these people into Namibia at that time at all. Whoever did that knew or should have known that these people will be massacred! I remember them! May their souls rest in eternal peace! Cde Nujoma blames UN Special Representative Martti Ahtisaari and then British Prime Minister Maggie Thatcher for the April 1 massacre! Can you hear?
