REMEMBERING BIAFRANS WHO DIED 1967-1970 Nigeria is indeed a very wicked and corrupt country. Jungle justice is the order of the day with total disregard for the rule of law. Nigeria has committed many crimes against her nationals which in the end made complete nonsense of her claim to unity. Nigeria persecuted and slaughtered and intimidated her minorities; Nigerian justice is a farce; her elections, her census, her politics, her everything is corrupt. Qualification, merit and experience are discounted in public service, my Oga at the top can attest to that. Bribery, corruption and nepotism are so widespread that people began to wonder openly whether any country in the world could compare with Nigeria in corruption and abuse of power. All the modern institutions - the Legislature, the Civil Service, the Army, the Police, the Judiciary, the Universities, the Trade Unions and the organs of mass information are devalued and made the tools of corrupt political power. This is why our brothers and sisters fought bravely during the war with the hope of ushering in a just society. We must honor their sacrifice.
