REMINDER - BASEBALL ASSESSMENTS ARE SUNDAY! Dear Parents and Players, This is an announcement for the mandatory 2014 HYBSA Spring Baseball Assessments that will help determine the 2014 spring team placement and contribute to the 2014 summer baseball placement for those playing summer baseball. These assessments are for players that are ages 8 to 12 as of April 30, 2014. Younger players registered for the 2014 season will be placed on teams and are requested not to attend these tryouts. The assessment times are done by birth date and are scheduled as follows: Sunday March 9 at the Holliston High Fieldhouse 9am - 11:00am: Players Age 9 and 10 (birthdays between May 1, 2003 and April 30, 2005) 11am - 12pm: Players Age 8 (birthdays between May 1, 2005 to April 30, 2006) 12:30pm - 2:30pm: Players Age 11 and 12 (birthdays between May 1, 2001 and April 30, 2003) While we understand there are always conflicts, please make every effort to attend the assessment during your assigned time. A player is free to come at any time during his age groups window. Depending on lines, it typically takes a player about 45 minutes to complete all the stations. As soon as a player has completed all the stations and checked out with the registrar, he is free to go. Additional Announcement Regarding Helmets This year at assessment day, HYBSA will also be offering our families the opportunity to purchase your player his own batting helmet. While HYBSA will continue to provide batting helmets to our players who need them, we understand many families prefer their child to have their own for a variety of reasons. Therefore, at assessment day, we will have a table set up for you to look at and order a Rawlings Cool Flo Batting helmet. You will receive the discounted price we receive from our vendor and HYBSA will not be making any profit on this item. Helmets with cages will cost $26 and helmets without cages will cost $16. Payment must be received at time of the order in the form of cash or check. Checks can be made out to HYBSA. Please call or email with any questions on either the assessments or the helmets. Sincerely, Jeff Golden
